First I must clarify that both associates and bachelors of science in nursing degrees take the same certification exam, the NCLEX, and receive the same RN license and thus have the same scope of practice. Since I began pursuing a career in nursing I have met many people that say "oh, I thought about being a nurse" and continued on to give a reason that they didn't follow through such as they can not stand the sight of blood. So, how do you know if nursing is right for you? In all honesty you don't until you are in it. It is sad to say but I have seen people work so hard to get into nursing school just to drop out because it was not what they actually wanted to do. So how do we try to prevent that from happening?
